ICON MAIL CLUB

What is the Icon Mail Club?

The Icon Mail Club is a monthly subscription that delivers a hand-picked icon print package to your door each month. It is our favourite way to share the beauty and theology of sacred art — slowly, one icon at a time.

What is included in each monthly package?

Each month you receive:

• A fine art icon print (size ranges between 4" × 6" and 5" × 7")

• An in-depth letter explaining the theological and philosophical symbolism of that icon

• A holy prayer card

When will I receive my package?

Packages are sent out on the 26th of each month via international airmail. Estimated delivery times are:

• North America: 4–25 days after dispatch

• International: 2–5 weeks after dispatch

Your local postal service plays a big role in the speed. We have found that some international destinations (such as Germany) receive mail faster than some domestic ones. Part of the beauty of snail mail is the anticipation — but if something seems wrong, reach out and we'll look into it.

Will I receive a tracking number?

Packages are sent via untracked airmail, so no tracking number is provided. If your package does not arrive within a reasonable timeframe (30 days for North America, 45 days internationally), please contact us at ij@ikranrinmakan.com and we will investigate.

How much does the Icon Mail Club cost?

The monthly subscription is $12.00 USD per month, with free worldwide shipping included. You can also subscribe annually and save 20%.

Is shipping really free?

Yes — $12.00 includes shipping wherever you live in the world.

How do I update my address or cancel my subscription?

You can update your shipping address or cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal. The link is on the Icon Mail Club page. Please make any changes before the 20th of the month to ensure they take effect before that month's dispatch.

SHOP EDITIONS

What are Shop Editions?

Shop Editions are previous Icon Mail Club packages available for individual purchase. Each Edition includes the original icon print, the in-depth theological reflection letter, and a prayer card — exactly as subscribers received them that month. They are a wonderful way to collect past icons or purchase a specific piece as a gift.

How much do editions cost?

Each Edition is $19.99 USD, with free worldwide shipping included.

COMMISSIONS

How do I request a commission?

You can submit a commission inquiry through the Commissions page on our website. Tell us about the subject, intended use (home, church, chapel, gift), approximate size, and any timeline you have in mind. We will get back to you to discuss the details.

Do you accept every commission?

We take on commissions selectively to ensure each work receives the care and attention it deserves. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance — we reserve the right to decline requests. If we are not the right fit for your project, we will do our best to say so kindly and promptly.

How much does a commission cost?

Commission pricing depends on the subject matter, medium, and dimensions. We will provide a full quote during the consultation process before any commitment is made.

What is the payment structure?

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed price is required to begin work. The remaining 50% is due upon completion, before the artwork is shipped or delivered.

Can I cancel a commission?

The deposit is non-refundable once work has commenced. If you need to cancel before work begins, please contact us as soon as possible. If we are unable to complete the commission due to circumstances on our end, your full deposit will be refunded.

How long does a commission take?

Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the piece and our current schedule. We will give you an honest estimate during the consultation. We ask for patience — good icons are not rushed.

Can I request revisions?

We welcome your input, especially at the early stages. Revisions requested after work has substantially progressed may incur an additional charge. Major changes to the scope (subject, size, or medium) will require renegotiation of the price and timeline.

Who owns the copyright to a commissioned work?

We retain full copyright in all works we create, including commissions. When you commission a piece, you receive ownership of the physical artwork for personal or liturgical use. Reproduction, publication, or commercial use of the image requires our prior written permission.

SHIPPING

Where do you ship?

We ship worldwide. All products — Icon Mail Club packages, Shop Editions, and commissions — are sent internationally from Ottawa, Canada.

How are packages shipped?

All physical products are shipped via untracked international airmail. This means no tracking number is provided. We take care to package everything well before it leaves our hands.

What if my package doesn't arrive?

If your package has not arrived within 30 days (North America) or 45 days (international) of the dispatch date, please contact us at ij@ikranrinmakan.com. We will investigate and, where appropriate, offer a replacement or refund.

Are there customs fees or duties?

We ship from Canada. Depending on your country, your parcel may be subject to import duties or customs fees upon arrival. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are outside our control. Letters and small print packages are generally below customs thresholds in most countries, but we cannot guarantee this.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

What is your refund policy for Shop Editions?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for change of mind. If your print arrives visibly damaged, please contact us at ij@ikranrinmakan.com within 14 days of receipt with a photograph of the damage, and we will offer a replacement or a full refund at our discretion.

What if my Icon Mail Club package doesn't arrive?

If your package does not arrive within 30 days (North America) or 45 days (international), reach out and we will look into it and, where reasonable, resend or refund the missing month.

Can I get a refund for a subscription month I've already been charged for?

Cancellation stops future renewals but does not entitle you to a refund of the current billing period already charged.

Can I cancel my commission?

Please see the Commissions section above. The short answer: the deposit is non-refundable once work has started, so reach out as early as possible if your plans change.

OTHER

Can I follow your work?

Yes! You can find us on Instagram and other platforms — links are in the footer of the website. We share work in progress, new editions, reflections on iconography, and glimpses of studio life.

Do you write about art and theology elsewhere?

Yes — IJ Makan also writes at becomingantifragile.com, where you'll find longer reflections on beauty, sacred tradition, and the examined life.

Can I display or share photos of my purchase?

Absolutely — we love seeing where the icons end up. You are welcome to display your piece and share photographs of it on social media for personal, non-commercial purposes. We only ask that you credit Ikranrin Makan Studio as the artist.
